Captain Koons is the POW survivor who visits young Butch to pass on his father’s gold watch. Koons tells an amazing story about the Coolidge legacy, which involves hiding that chunk of metal in the darkest recesses of the human anatomy. That wonderful moment, with Walken’s deadpan delivery, paves the way for Butch to put his own ass on the line (literally) for that gold watch.
