Kill Bill’s empowered Bridezilla is a Frankenstein-ish amalgamation of ancient samurai, kung fu master and spaghetti western gunslinger. Uma Thurman delivers a resilient performance that allows Tarantino to realize all his favorite grindhouse archetypes. Her character truly comes to life during that bittersweet wedding rehearsal, when she drops her armor and is caught off-guard by genuine emotion.
